Embark on a journey to Umbria to discover the beautiful medieval town of Orvieto and the mystic and sacred town of Assisi.

Perched on a volcanic plateau, Orvieto showcases a captivating blend of history, art, and natural beauty. The town is crowned by the magnificent Orvieto Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. Here, you will have some free time to walk around on your own.

Then continue onto Assisi, world-renowned as the home of Saint Francis. An English-speaking guide will lead you through the narrow streets of this medieval town and tell you about its charming history. Inside the Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi, you will admire Giotto’s frescos and discover why it is a fundamental pilgrimage site. Next, you will visit the Basilica of Santa Chiara, dedicated to Saint Clare of Assisi, a follower of Saint Francis. After some free time to stroll around, the tour continues with a visit to Santa Maria degli Angeli Church, the birthplace of the Franciscan Order.

See Florence from the water on a "Florentine Gondola"! This guided, leisurely boat ride down the Arno River lets you see and learn about Florence as you haven't before.

The boat or “barchetto” is one of the only 4 original traditional wooden boats left in Florence, conducted by a “barcaiolo”, a true Florentine tradition holder that will guide you with his long-reaching sweeping-oar. No noisy engines, only the charm of tradition and the voice of your expert guide.

Pass by the Uffizi gallery, admire the unique Ponte Vecchio bridge and learn about the mysterious Vasari Corridor, and see the Santa Trinita bridge and the amazing Palazzo Corsini. Then enjoy a glass of cool wine to finish off this wonderful evening tour.

Group Tour - Siena & San Gimignano with Dinner

Starting from Florence, you will be taken to Siena by an English speaking driver. In Siena, enjoy a guided walking tour of this compact city as you explore Piazza del Campo, the main central square where the famous Palio horse race takes place every year, as well as the quieter backstreets and learning everything about the Contrade, the 17 medieval city districts that compete against each other in the Palio.

Then continue to San Gimignano, famed for its medieval skyscrapers, high walls and narrow streets that typify most people image of a Tuscan hill town. San Gimignano is unique in the preservation of about a dozen of its tower houses, which with its hilltop setting and encircling walls, form its famed and unforgettable skyline. You will have free time to explore this city as you wish.

Finally, savor a typical Tuscan dinner paired with wines in a fascinating location in the Chianti countryside. Then return to Florence.
