This area has become an icon in the region because the food is absolutely not to be missed and many of these beautiful beaches are not easily accessible by car. The captain will take you to one of the restaurants where the boat will pull right up to shore and he will wait while you dine, then take you back to your embarkation point. Depart from Positano for a 90 min ride to Herculaneum, the ancient Roman city destroyed tragically after the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in AD 79.
When the catastrophe of AD 79 occurred Herculaneum was submerged under a torrent of mud and lava that hardened into a soft tufa (a kind of course rock) that preserved many of the wooden parts of houses and household objects which can be seen today. A large part of the town is still buried, and certainly many art treasures are still to be found.
Exact time will be provided in final documents. Pick up at your hotel.

Embark in the morning on your private boat from Positano and cruise through the heart of the Amalfi Coastline. You will see the private villas and crumbling towers, the quintessential fishing villages climbing up the mountainside, clear, turquoise coves that beckon you to jump in for a swim, and the Mediterranean Sea all around you...the views and the beauty are magical. Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to stop and swim, visit various villages, and experience the beauty of the unique coastline.
Here are some highlights of the tour:
Positano: The view of Positano from the sea is one of the most famous views in the world. Cruise along the coastline and pass the world-renown 5 star San Pietro Hotel, small hidden coves and beaches where you can stop for a swim off the boat if you would like.
Li Galli Islands: A set of private islands off the coast of Positano where Ulysses heard the song of the sirens as he passed through. There is an underwater nature reserve in the middle of the archipelago and a beautiful view of Positano as well as Capri.
Praiano: A typical Amalfi Coast fishing village that is built onto two sides of the mountain and home to the sea cave dubbed "La Grotta Africana".
Furore: Here you will pass a wonderful turquoise Fjord with a bridge where a diving competition is held every year. It is also the location where Roberto Rossellini filmed "Amore" beside Anna Magnani.
Conca dei Marini: You will pass a beautiful bay under the former villa of Sophia Loren, as well as a natural arc in the rocks dubbed the "Lover's Arc". This is one of the most beautiful spots on the Amalfi Coast and was voted to be in the top 100 most beautiful villages in all of Italy.
Amalfi: The most famous town on the Amalfi Coast, a bustling village with a beautiful cathedral dedicated to St. Andrew and home to lovely hotels, shops, restaurants and an historic paper mill/museum which produces organic paper.
Atrani: The smallest village in all of Italy, a quaint cobblestone piazzetta with a small fountain surrounded by lovely cafes and a spacious beach.
Marmorata: A fraction of Ravello, Marmorata is my favorite part of the coastline, very green and beautiful with an almost tropical feel. There is a little waterfall tucked into a small lagoon, ideal for a swim.
Minori: Another small, idyllic fishing village of the Amalfi Coast and home to “Villa Romana” the ruins of a Roman villa.
Maiori: A large beach and sidewalk full of shops and cafes.
Pandora's Grotto: A cave just past the town of Maiori, accessible only via the sea.
Meeting point will be at a central location. Details will be provided in final documents.

Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to stop and swim, visit Capri and Anacapri, and experience the beauty of the unique coastline.
Here are some highlights of the tour:
The Blue Grotto: Known for its electric blue light, it was once the private bath house of Roman Emperor Tiberius before it was abandoned for centuries, feared to be cursed.
Green Grotto: Turquoise waters with a natural arc leading to the other side of the grotto, opening to what some say is the best swimming lagoon on the island.
White Grotto: Named for the white stalactites that adorn the cave, it sits directly below a higher grotto that has a natural rock formation in the shape of the Virgin Mary.
Marina Piccola: A popular docking spot for yachts of the rich and famous with a view of the Faraglioni that must be experienced.
I Faraglioni: The symbol of Capri and the backdrop to many designer ads, most notably D&G Light Blue perfume. The captain may even boat through the center hole of one of the rocks!
One of the best parts about chartering a boat is that the captain is a local of the area. While he is not a licensed tour guide, he is knowledgeable of the area and will be more than happy to provide information on what you are seeing as well as insider tips on things to do.
Meeting point will be at a central location. Details will be provided in final documents.

Once in Naples, enjoy a private, guided walking tour of the major sights like Piazza del Gesu’, Spaccanapoli, St. Chiara Church including a tour of the National Archaeological Museum (MANN) with its extensive Greek and Roman collections, a must-see for art enthusiasts.
The MANN was once a royal stable during the time of King Charles III of Spain and today houses works of the highest quality produced in Egyptian, Greek and Roman times. The core of these exhibits is from the Farnese collection, founded upon gems collected by Cosimo de' Medici and Lorenzo Il Magnifico in the 15th century. Additionally, the museum contains a large number of Roman artifacts from Pompeii, Stabiae and Herculaneum, including important mosaics recovered from the ruins of the Vesuvian cities.

Mount Vesuvius dominates the Bay of Naples. It is the only active volcano on the mainland of Europe. The slopes were once covered with vineyards and woods and provided an innocent looking backdrop for the bustling town below. Your private driver will take you to within nearly 1,000 yards of the top of Vesuvius and from here you can walk/hike to the very top and admire the splendid panoramic views across the bay. From the blackened crater rises a single plume of smoke, a reminder that the volcano is only sleeping for now.
