Itinerary

Arrive in Rome

Arrive in Rome at Fiumicino Airport.  Your private driver will bring you to your Rome hotel.  Rest up and grab some food.  Tomorrow begins your exploration of Italy!

Rome Sightseeing

Explore the most important sites of Ancient Rome - the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill with skip the line access!

Then this evening see the most famous sights of Rome in a new light on this night walking tour visiting the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Colonna, Pantheon (outside visit) and Piazza Navona. You will also have the chance to enjoy a typical Italian Aperitivo, as the locals do, with a nice glass of wine (or something else, should you choose) and a selection of appetizers in one of Rome’s most charming places.

Vatican Museums

Take a tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, and St. Peter's Square. Enjoy No Wait Access and small groups for the best Vatican experience.

Rome - Pompeii - Sorrento

You will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to Rome train station for your high-speed train ride to Naples. Once you've arrived in Naples, you will be met at the train station and taken to your hotel in Sorrento with a stop in Pompeii.

Imagine, a city perfectly preserved as it was on that fateful day 2,000-years-ago, when ash and lava literally stopped it in its tracks. You'll see the tragic fossils of people attempting to escape along with children and dogs.

A Day in Capri & Anacapri

Sail across the bay of Sorrento for the start of an unforgettable day. For such a small an island, about 4 miles long and 2 miles wide, Capri has had much said, sung and written about it. Enjoy a guided walking tour of Capri and Anacapri with their chic town centers, shops, hotels and restaurants along winding streets. The main square Piazza Umberto I has a pretty white church and several open-air cafes where you can sit and watch the world drift by. Leading off the square are medieval-looking alleyways and arcades full of shops selling the handicrafts of the island, clothing, jewelry made from coral and gold, shoes and ceramics. Then, head south to admire the famed Faraglioni Rocks.

There is free time for you to go off and shop around the elegant boutiques, stroll along the cobbled streets or simply relax on the beach. There is so much to see and do on this tiny island paradise!

At last, meet your guide again and enjoy a boat ride around the island to admire its splendid caves before heading back to Sorrento

Sorrento - Naples - Florence

Today you will say goodbye to Sorrento and head to the fountainhead of the Renaissance, Florence!

You will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to Naples train station for your high-speed train ride to Florence. Once you've arrived in Florence, you will be met at the train station and taken to your hotel.

Check in at your hotel. Rest up or take a leisurely walk in the historic center and grab a bite to eat.

Florence & Pisa Sighseeing

Discover Florence's historic center on this walking tour including the Ponte Vecchio, the imposing Duomo (only from outside), elegant Uffizi Square, the renowned leather market, and the Accademia Gallery with Michelangelo’s David.

This afternoon visit Pisa and its famous Leaning Tower. In the heart of the city is Piazza dei Miracoli where you will simultaneously see the Leaning Tower, Baptistery, Cathedral, and the Monumental Cemetery. Each of these buildings are stunning in their own way and have unique stories to tell. Be sure to take a photo of you holding up the leaning tower!

Siena & San Gimignano with Dinner

This morning is at leisure. Explore Florence on your own, or feel free to add one of our Day Tours in Florence to this itinerary. We suggest taking a bike or Segway tour or joining one of our cooking classes (not included in the package price).

This afternoon, you will be taken to Siena by an English speaking driver. In Siena, enjoy a guided walking tour of this medieval city as you explore Piazza del Campo, the main central square where the famous Palio horse race takes place every year, as well as the quieter backstreets and learn everything about the Contrade, the 17 medieval city districts that compete against each other in the Palio. Plus, you will have a surprise tasting of a typical product!

Then continue to San Gimignano, famed for its medieval skyscrapers, high walls and narrow streets that typify most people image of a Tuscan hill town. San Gimignano is unique in the preservation of about a dozen of its tower houses, which with its hilltop setting and encircling walls, form its famed and unforgettable skyline. You will have free time to explore this city as you wish.

Finally, savor a typical Tuscan dinner paired with wines in a fascinating location in the Chianti countryside as you take in the beautiful Tuscan sunset. Then return to Florence.

Florence - Venice

You will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to Florence train station for your high-speed train ride to Venice. Once you've arrived in Venice, you will be met at the train station and taken to your hotel by private boat.

Check in at your hotel. Rest up or take a leisurely walk in the historic center and grab a bite to eat.

Venice Sightseeing

Join a small group on a fun, informative, and tasty tour of Venice. This guided walk is a perfect introduction to Venice’s art, history, and food scene. Plus, enjoy a shared gondola ride to see Venice from the water!

The afternoon and evening are at leisure. 

Venice - Milan

You will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to Venice train station for your high-speed train ride to Milan. Once you've arrived in Milan, you will be met at the train station and taken to your hotel.

After you check-in at your hotel, enjoy an exciting 3 hour tour of Milan with a private English-speaking guide. Suggested sights: Arco della Pace, Cadorna, Corso Venezia, Piazza San Babila, La Scala Theater (from outside), Vittorio Emanuele Gallery, Duomo and Sforza Castle.

Lake Como, Bellagio & Lake Lugano

Enjoy a pleasant 2-hour cruise around Lake Como, surrounded by the magnificent Italian Alps, rich gardens, and fabulous villas (including those of George Clooney, Star Wars and James Bond movie). Visit the beautiful town of Bellagio also known as “the pearl of Lake Como”. At last, enjoy free time to shop for chocolate and other specialty items in the charming lakeside town of Lugano, Switzerland.

Depart Milan to USA

Your Italy Vacation has come to an end as you transfer from your hotel to Milan Malpensa Airport and head back home.
