Arrive in Palermo.  Your private driver will bring you to your Palermo hotel.  Settle in and rest up.  Tomorrow begins your exploration of Sicily!

Palermo & Monreale Tour

Your private driver and guide will meet you in your hotel lobby. Your tour begins in Monreale, where you will admire and learn about the Arab-Norman art and architecture, including the famous Cathedral with incredible mosaics.

After, head over to Palermo where your guide will lead you to the main sights of the city, including the Cathedral, Norman Palace, and large, open-air street market - Capo Market. Then return to your hotel.

Private Tour - Erice & Segesta with lunch at Olive Oil Farm - Excursion from Palermo

Duration: 7 hours
City: Palermo

Driving to western part of Sicily from Palermo, the first stop will be the medieval town of Erice, situated 2600 ft above the sea level and surrounded by ancient walls. Two castles make for a spectacular skyline to this town: Pepoli Castle, with foundations dating from Saracen times, and Venus Castle, dating from the Norman era but built on ruins of the ancient Temple of Venus. The view from the castle towers is breathtaking.

You may also visit the Cathedral built in the 1300 in Gothic Catalan style with amazing decorations, one of them being the picture of the famous black Virgin venerated in the area. Don't forget to taste the famous almond pastries made by the famous shop "Maria Grammatico".

After traveling through the Saltpans to see the historic salt flats works, where the ancient tradition of harvesting salt from the sea is still practiced, you will reach an olive oil farm. Here you will enjoy a light lunch including a tasting of local products such as cheese, cold cuts, olives, local bread and olive oil. 

Then move on to the magnificent Temple of Segesta. It was built by the Elimian, an old population whose origins were perhaps Turkish and was later colonized by the Greeks. It is the first Greek Temple built in Doric style and has 36 columns, still intact despite the several earthquakes which affected this area in the history. Also visit the theater, which is a typical example of the Greek semicircular theater style.

Begin your day in Siracusa with a stroll along the open local fish and fruits market situated in the historical center. Visit the Archaeological Park of Neapolis with is Greek theater, the Roman amphitheater and Latomia del Paradiso (with its Dionysius Hear) and the "Ara of Hyeron".

Then head to 'Ortigia Island', the heart of the city and walk the ancient narrow streets, which still keep the Medieval influence, before arriving at the Duomo square, one of the city highlights.

Private Tour - Scenic Etna Jeep Drive with Lunch - Excursion from Taormina

Mount Etna is one of the world's most active volcanoes and one of the Europe's highest volcanoes. It has more than 400 craters, spread all over the Catania county. To the ancient Greeks, Mt. Etna was the realm of Vulcan, god of fire, and the home of the one-eyed monster known as the Cyclops. 

You will be taken to the North side of the Etna National Park and reach 6000ft with your private driver. Enjoy a beautiful scenic Jeep drive through the Etna area and admire Mount Fontana, the Thieves Cave (Grotta dei ladroni) and the lava flows from the 2002 eruption. Then continue onto a local winery for lunch with a tasting of the local food and wine.
