Pompeii holds an intense fascination for visitors today. Following the eruption of the volcano Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 A.D., Pompeii lay buried and forgotten for hundreds of years. Your guide will take you slowly through some of the ancient streets of Pompeii where you can see Baths, Forums and Villas built by the prosperous Romans in the year 80 B.C. Mount Vesuvius dominates the Bay of Naples. It is the only active volcano on the mainland of Europe. The bus will take you to within nearly 1,000 yards of the top of Vesuvius and from here you can hike to the very top and admire the splendid panoramic views across the bay. Group Tour - The Path of the Gods Hike - Excursion from Sorrento

Named after the hike’s beautiful views and mythological history, the Path of the Gods or in Italian, “Sentiero degli Dei,” is considered today one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world.

Departure from Sorrento and transfer to Nocelle by private minibus.

Under the guidance of an expert environmental guide you will hike and climb up the ancient path that connects Nocelle to Bomerano. The path is almost 5 miles and takes about 3 hours. The landscape and the views are constantly changing from lush green plants to covered forest with a floor coated in leaves.
